Free Process Development at Our Technical Centre

Process development, training and detailed technical support services are offered in our fully equipped Technical Centre. Whether you are developing a new product, troubleshooting an existing surface finishing process or simply looking to get better performance and results using the latest methods, our team of specialists is here to help. With more than 100 collective years of experience in lapping and polishing, our technical experts have the knowledge and equipment to help you optimise your process and achieve the best possible flatness, surface finish and repeatability regardless of the component geometry or material involved. Kemet has all the equipment and materials needed to lap and polish virtually any component, to the most exacting standards in the industry.

How the Free Sample Evaluation Works

We regularly assist customers by developing new products and processes, utilising the very latest in precision flat lapping technology. Customers' samples are evaluated free of charge (cost may be applicable if custom tooling is required). Simply send us your components and our specialists will carry out a full series of lapping trials in our Technical Centre, testing different abrasives, plate types and parameters until we have identified the optimum process for your application.

There is absolutely no obligation to purchase anything at any stage. Our goal is to give you the confidence to move forward, whether that means bringing the process in-house, outsourcing production or investing in new equipment, with full technical and cost transparency from day one.

Process Optimisation for Existing Operations

If you already have a lapping or polishing process in place but are struggling to achieve consistent results, our Technical Centre can carry out a full process optimisation review. Our specialists will assess your current method and recommend improvements, often delivering significant gains in surface finish quality and production throughput without the need for new capital investment.
